I started practising yoga in my early 20s and it saved my life. At that time I was a mess. Struggling with my sexuality and coming out. I was in a lot of pain and confusion and yoga came to my rescue.
I dedicated myself to practice. Going 4,5, 6 times per week to London studios. It was the first time I ever felt at peace in my body. I cried on my mat, I laughed, I made friends for life, I found community. I learned to love and accept myself and my outlook on life began to change dramatically.
After 8 years of practice I did my first teacher training and decided to change career and leave London to begin a new chapter in Berlin, where I still am based today.
I started teaching weekly classes for gay men. These classes became a vibrant and large community in the city. I’m immensely proud of these classes! And they led to me running my own retreats. First a weekend in Brandenburg, then Tuscany, and many many retreats to Portugal, Sweden and more recently Cornwall.
Life is an adventure. It’s tough. I always wanted to do something meaningful with my life. I’m full of passion and curiosity for my own path in life. Finding peace and acceptance with my past. Feeling whole and authentic in the present. And I feel like I am a lifelong student of healing arts and practices.
I bring all of this experience to my teaching and especially to my retreats. My passion and gift in life is bringing people together and creating spaces where people feel they can be themselves. Where people open up to themselves and to each other and to life.
My retreats are challenging, playful, and joyful! We have a lot of fun on retreat as well as doing the inner work.
I’ve made documentaries at the BBC, filmed sled dog racing for a thousand miles across Alaska, climbed mountains in Kenya and Chile, done a Quest across Europe that led to the house of Paulo Coelho, in the pandemic I walked 1600kms solo across France and Spain along the Camino de Santiago.
It’s truly an honour to teach yoga and spend time with people on retreat. I’m grateful for all the people who sign up for these retreats. It takes a lot of courage and vulnerability. I’m grateful for the teachers, mentors, guides, communities and experiences that have shaped my life and make me the person I am today.
Hope you on yoga mat sometime soon!
